The Mini Grant project led to a new project, the Garfield Elementary School Adopt-A-School Program. This occurred when it was noted that the dedicated teachers from this school were consistently requesting funds not for supplementary educational projects but for basic needs that could not be met by the school. As an ‘adopted’ school, Garfield is not eligible to receive Mini-Grants.
